The Holiday Inn Express & Suites® Westgate Mall received the IHG® (InterContinental Hotels Group) Renovation Award for 2014 in recognition for its outstanding renovation and modernization project. The hotel was recognized at the IHG Americas Investors & Leadership annual conference in Las Vegas and is one of only 56 hotels to receive this recognition among a portfolio of over 4,700 hotels nationwide. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites-Westgate Mall adds this award to its impressive list of accolades, including the IHG® Quality Excellence award and the TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence touting its outstanding service and quality and its place as a Top 3 TripAdvisor hotel in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Spartanburg-based Pinnacle Hospitality completed over $1 million in renovations giving the hotel a fresh, new contemporary design throughout its 88 guest rooms, meeting space and public areas. The new look features a warm and rich yet relaxing color palette, a contemporary furniture package and an added bonus of 42” flat screen televisions. Hotel manager, Don McInerney, believes the new look places the hotel at the leading edge of its competitors and presents its guests with amenities that give them more style, more comfort and value than they would expect. “Our service has always set us apart from the rest, and we feel that our new look just takes us to the top of the heap,” said McInerney. “That’s the essence our company’s mission statement. We always want to give our guests more than what they’d expect. We feel we achieved that with this project, and we’re honored to be recognized among our peers with this award,” says Sachin Shanbhag, managing director for Pinnacle Hospitality.
